Meanwhile, the newly launched SPS Stage Kuala Lumpur introduced resources from the internationally renowned SPS brand to the region, showcasing advanced solutions from exhibitors at other SPS events. Exhibitors at SPS Stage also contributed to the Tech Lab, presenting on smart manufacturing topics such as smart factory assembly solutions and data connectivity. The showcase highlighted technologies for production efficiency advancement.

Feedback from speakers:
“In just three years, IMKL has become the ASEAN region's key event for digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing technologies. The first year brought experts from around the world to share their visions, and by the second year we also saw case studies from SMEs who had successfully transformed through IMKL's network. Now in its third year, even previous audience members are leading workshops and taking to the stage as speakers. We are a community, sharing what we've learned to help every SME succeed in Industry 4.0.”
Prof Dr David Romero, Scientific Vice-Chairman, World Manufacturing Foundation, and Professor of Advanced Manufacturing, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico

“Malaysian manufacturers see the opportunities AI brings for higher output, lower costs, and greater innovation, all of which contribute to national economic growth. IMKL's conference creates a platform for sharing valuable knowledge and experience from different parts of the world. By connecting industry experts, business leaders, academics and policymakers, it helps our manufacturers stay competitive.”
Mr Sam Majid, Head of NAIO, National AI Office (NAIO)

“Beyond the powerful machines, models, and frameworks, intelligent manufacturing is really about three things: people, purpose, and policy. IMKL convenes industry stakeholders to share, discuss, and create synergies around these ideas. It’s clearly at the forefront of advancing technology, and bringing everyone to a single location to foster collaboration is no simple task. IMKL is doing a great job of making this happen.”
Mr James Kok, Head, AIAP-X, Head, AIEH (Defence), Assistant Head, Industry Development, AI Innovation, AI Singapore

“At IMKL, we can see that there is a definite appetite among ASEAN manufacturers to progress to the next level of digital transformation. The focus on AI integration in manufacturing was timely, as everyone is embracing or trying to embrace these technologies, and I personally was impressed seeing just how far robotics technology has advanced. IMKL is a great platform for bringing the industry together, with clear effort and investment in securing quality speakers and panellists.”
Ms Mei May Soo, Chief AI, Global Solution Specialist, Dell Technologies

“Many manufacturers remain unconsciously incompetent, lacking awareness of actionable digital and AI solutions. For effective adoption, these technologies must address specific pain points in machinery, processes, or workforce, aligned with investment capacity. IMKL plays a key role as a knowledge hub, helping industry players recognize viable solutions and kickstart their transformation. Such an event is vital for fostering awareness, guiding stakeholders on priorities, and driving sustainable industry growth.”
Dr Deny Sapian, Head of Industrial Sales & Business Development, Schaeffler Bearings (Malayia) Sdn Bhd

Product showcases at Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur 2025

Feedback from product showcase contributors:
“Together with the School of IT and School of Engineering, we brought several of our startups to IMKL 2025, presenting work in chip development, medical applications and energy-related projects. It's a great opportunity to walk around and talk to people from different domains and industries. Visitors to our booth were quite surprised by our startups and gave us many ideas on how to collaborate, particularly in AI and data science, to make these technologies work better for society.”
Dr Lim Chern Hong, Senior Lecturer, Monash University Malaysia

“MOXO is at IMKL to showcase our solutions for Southeast Asian manufacturers, especially in the rubber and oil sectors. The energy here is great, and it's a really well-organised event with insightful booths. I've had deep conversations with delegates about process integration and supply chain solutions, and the conference covers important topics like AI, innovation, and sustainable manufacturing. It's a great place to see what's happening in the industry today.”
Ms Maitreyi Devi, Solutions Lead - APAC, MOXO

“Through our collaboration with SHRDC, we joined SPS Stage Kuala Lumpur to showcase Bossard's smart factory assembly solutions and explore other exhibitors' technologies. We're connecting with local universities and potential project partners, creating a whole ecosystem where customers become partners and partners become customers. The way the showcases and Tech Labs are structured works very well, giving us a good chance to advance and get a new perspective on things.”
Mr Dave Tang, Engineering Manager, Bossard (M) Sdn Bhd (SPS Stage Kuala Lumpur)

Feedback from conference delegates and visitors:
“For Dell Technologies Malaysia, IMKL is definitely where we need to be to exchange best practices in the artificial intelligence space. The event is very strategic about AI's future and its implementation in manufacturing. The Tech Labs and Showcases are excellent, featuring impressive demonstrations of robotics and AI, and we've heard speakers from across Malaysia, Singapore and worldwide share insights on generative AI, physical AI, agentic AI and robotics – everything needed to push the Malaysian industry forward. With this technological change happening very fast, it's really an event no one should miss.”
Mr TS Koay, Managing Director, Dell Global Business Center Sdn Bhd

“Attending IMKL for my second year, I find it a great opportunity to learn about upcoming trends in digitalisation and industrial transformation. This year’s conference highlighted the importance of investing in people rather than solely in technology. For SMEs like us with limited budgets for new technologies, investing in our people becomes even more critical, as it’s about enabling humans to work in synergy with machinery to get the best results. I highly recommend the event for both its access to new technologies and its insights into what lies ahead.”
Ms Lee Miew Sim, Deputy General Manager, Rovski Industries Sdn Bhd

“The Tech Lab at IMKL proved highly informative, with companies sharing their work and showing us how their systems operate. At the product showcases, I discovered sensors and technologies I hadn't seen in the market before – truly cutting-edge innovations that went beyond what I expected. Working in palm oil manufacturing, where processes tend to be quite conventional, this kind of practical knowledge sharing helps us bring our teams on board with automation and IoT. ”
Mr Wong Si En, Lead Digitalisation, Mechanisation, Automation & Digitalisation Department (R&D Division), FGV Holdings

“IMKL's conference sessions, Tech Lab, and product showcases have all been very beneficial, highlighting what's happening in the global market and what leading companies are doing. At Academy Hevea Malaysia, we work with many Malaysian rubber product manufacturers, and these insights help us introduce new technologies, including AI, to our industry. For example, one speaker's simple explanation of cobots versus humanoid robots showed us exactly how our manufacturers can begin utilising these technologies.”
TS Dr Roland Ngeow, Rector, Malaysian Rubber Board, Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia
