11 Nov 2024

The organiser of Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur (IMKL) has announced that the conference-led event will return to the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) with revised dates, moving from 7 – 9 May to 14 – 16 May to accommodate venue requirements. The event will bring together international industry experts, representatives from leading firms, academics and government officials to share strategies for advancing the digital capabilities of ASEAN manufacturers, both at the factory level and throughout the wider manufacturing value chain. Paper submissions for the conference component are now open, with a submission deadline of 31 January 2025. In 2025, a new pavilion, SPS Stage Kuala Lumpur, will also be introduced, connecting the regional market to resources from the international SPS network of fairs.

In 2025, Malaysia will assume the ASEAN Chairmanship, a role that charges the country with promoting the interests and well-being of ASEAN member states. As part of this leadership, Malaysia is well-positioned to drive regional initiatives in the digital transformation of manufacturing and encourage broader industry-wide knowledge exchange.

As a conference-led event centered on digital transformation in manufacturing, Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur provides an end-to-end platform for manufacturers of all sizes seeking to implement smart manufacturing technologies as part of their digital transformation efforts. The main conference provides an overview of the latest advancements and case studies in industrial digitalisation, while the adjacent product showcases connect attendees with relevant solution providers and technology vendors. The event addresses the full transformation process, from concept and planning to the deployment of hardware and software solutions, with the broader goal of advancing manufacturing capabilities across the region.

A key highlight of the event is its two-day conference, co-organised with the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC). The 2025 edition, under the theme “Synergising technologies and workforce adoption for operational success”, will be guided by the Intelligent Manufacturing Kuala Lumpur advisory committee, which includes:

  • Dr Chua Wen-Shyan, Head of Malaysian Smart Factory 4.0, Selangor Human Resource Development Centre
  • Dr Ing Dominic Gorecky, Head of Swiss Smart Factory & Swiss Health Tech Center, Partner, Executive Board Member, Switzerland Innovation Park Biel / Bienne AG
  • Prof Dr David Romero, Scientific Vice-Chairman, World Manufacturing Foundation and Professor of Advanced Manufacturing, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico.
